Darcy Cook is a writer, editor, and avid do-it-yourselfer. That doesn't mean she's a serial renovator, just that she does things like cleaning her own house, trimming her own shrubs, and shoveling her own snow. When her kids were small, she chased them around the house, the yard, and the playground herself. These days her do-it-yourself activities tend to involve fewer swingsets and playscapes and more hammers and dustpans and garden trugs.
Darcy lives with her family in northern Westchester County, New York. She has been married to Mr. Darcy (lawyer, lumberjack, voice of reason) for over twenty years. Together they have two teenaged boys: Son One will someday build the spacecraft that will take us to Mars; Son Two will be the Yankees' next great lefty closer. Both know how to wash cars and scramble eggs and split firewood and though they often pretend not to, how to get their dirty laundry in the hamper.
